I then stained half of them with a Cherry Wood colored stain and the other half with a dark blackish stain called Ebony.
Then I selected 8 different fabric prints and cut 2 strips about 6 inches wide and 14 inches long (give or take). I would fold each side over about 1/2 inch so the edges of the fabric look nice and clean once attached. I then flipped the selected board over and stapled the fabric in the center of one edge.
Then I flipped the board back right-side-up and bunched the material in the center of the board at about 2/3 of the way up the board and stapled it. Then I flipped the board back over and attached the remaining end of the fabric strip. I attached the 2nd piece of fabric in the same fashion perpendicular to the first strip forming a cross.
After the cross is formed I super glued a cute flower in the center of the fabric. Then I attached picture hanging hardware to the back of the board so it can be hung on the wall and VOILA super easy super cute fabric/wood cross wall art!
They were a hit at the craft fair at $20 each and my older girls each want one to hang in their bedrooms.
