As many of you know I am a busy busy mom to my 4 little Byerlys. My handsome hubby and I own and operate an oilfield repair company and I do all of that paperwork from our home so that our 2 smallest Byerlys can be home with me. I also have a craft business called Raspberry Hill where I create and refurbish home decor and furniture and I also do this from our home (well the shop in the backyard). In addition to all of this I also sell Chalky and Company. All of this was, up until yesterday, being done from our master bedroom. Not anymore! After 3 years in our nearly 4000 square foot home and our 4000 square foot shop- MOM finally has her own space. YAY! Can you visualize the happy dance that I am doing right now?
Our upstairs den wasn't being used by the big girls as much as I had thought they would use it when we moved in and set it up for them. I decided that this was going to be my space! I needed a space!
I started by removing the big sectional couch and moving it into the Man Cave area of the shop. I then started cleaning because lets face it the big girls didn't. Haha.
Next I started gathering up and bringing in the rugs, throw pillows and other decor items that I wanted to include in the space and started setting everything up.
After I cleaned up a bit I began moving in furniture from my current "office" and from the garage.
Then the projects started! Of course you can't complete a big move like this without projects! I had several but they were all fun and I love how it all turned out. Of course the room has to get messier before it gets clean. Murphy's law.
Project 1: I used 3 of my Chalky and Company Coast to Coast coasters and some dowel rod to create ribbon holders.
Next I used some Chalky and Company Painter's Powder, Midnight black paint and flat velvet top coat to paint this little white shelf black to match my other furniture.
I wanted to display my Chalky & Co awards in my new space so I framed and hung my paper award but wanted to do something a little more original to my wood award. I painted the engraved lettering with White Mountains paint from Chalky & Co and then layered on random brush strokes of Chalky & Co paint in Stormy Sky, Integrity and Caribbean colors. I love it!
In fact, I loved the look so much that I used it on my next 2 projects!
I painted the same layered look onto this vintage falling apart adorable window and then used my handy dandy Cricut machine to cut some cute sayings out of white vinyl. I for some reason can not apply vinyl cut outs straight and level to save my life but it just makes this piece all that more "custom". haha
I also used the blues/greens and layered the colors on this wood coat hanger from Chalky & CO. I needed a place to hang my painting aprons and thought this would be a perfect fit.
Finally, after all the projects were completed, I added my decor items, arranged all of my craft supplies and called it (mostly) finished. I am sure that I will add a few more items and rearrange my supplies a few times before I find the perfect flow but for the most part my space is complete and I LOVE IT!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
Super cute!
