Introducing Mr. & Mrs. Johnson

Last week I had the heart touching privilege of watching my little tiny baby brother grow up right before my eyes.  Being 14 years his senior I have always seen him as a kid, a baby, my baby brother- but last Thursday the 21st of September, 2017 my baby brother became a husband.  My sister and I sat at the wedding reception and just stared at him.  "Do you think it's the ring?" my sister says.  "I don't know- maybe the suit?" I replied.  We were asking each other what was it?  What made him look so very different that afternoon?  It had to be some physical thing some tangible item that could be pinpointed.  How could he be our baby brother that very morning and now, just a few hours later, he looked like... a man.  It was an unfathomable notion.  It didn't make sense. There he stood- full grown, wearing a wedding ring and having given his last name to a woman that will some day bare his children and share a life with him. It was a truly amazing transformation to behold.  I am so very grateful that I was able to be there and witness it.

Plus... I really like his wife!  My sister, mother and I were able to throw Mrs. Johnson a fun crafty bridal shower the night before the wedding.  We painted all of the below pictured items for the newlyweds to help them decorate their new home.   It was fun and simple and I hope they love all of the items.

Then It was "The Wedding Day!"

Having planned this wedding in a very short amount of time there were several last minute errands to run the day of the "I Dos".  Again, my sister, mother and I got busy!  While the bride and groom to be prepared for their big day we picked up decorations, bags of ice, food for the reception, wedding gifts, and of course the cake.  We set up tables, decorated the yard,  blew up (and accidentally exploded) balloons.  It was a mad dash of last minute tasks but we did it and the infamous Wyoming Wind relented for almost an entire day leaving our outdoor decorations untouched and in tact for the party!  This is itself a miracle.

It was a small beautiful ceremony in the park followed by family and friends gathering in the newlyweds yard to celebrate their big day.

Congratulations baby brother.  I love you and so very proud of the man you've become.
